How to Download a Website?

In this article, we will learn how to install wget, and download a website, including all its associated files. Please note that wget will only download the HTML files of the website. For example, if the website is built using WordPress, wget will not download WordPress files or databases; it will only retrieve the HTML content. Nonetheless, let’s dive in and get started!

1. Download and Install wget
To get started with wget, the first step is to download and install it on your system. Begin by visiting the official wget website and downloading the latest version of the tool. After the download is complete, locate the downloaded file. Next, navigate to the system32 folder on your Windows system. You can do this by going to ‘This PC’, then ‘C’ drive, ‘Windows’, and finally ‘system32’. Once there, paste the downloaded wget file. Wget is now installed on your system and ready to use.

2. Check and Run wget
